About history, links ...

In 1929, the Estonian Central Society for Promotion of Home Industry was established. The private limited company Kodukästöö operated in cooperation with the Central Society. National handicrafts were produced and marketed, and exhibitions were organized. Knitwear inspired by folk art was especially popular.

In 1992, the Estonian Central Society for Promotion of Home Industry was restored, and in 2004 renamed the Estonian Folk Art and Crafts Union. A sub-union of entrepreneurs began operating under the restored central society, and in 1994, OÜ Kodukäsitöö was registered, which has the right to use a common logo with the Crafts Union.
